  1. National Handicrafts Development Programme (NHDP): The National Handicrafts Development Programme (NHDP) is a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at promoting the development of the handicraft sector. Under this program, various schemes and interventions are implemented to provide support to artisans and handicraft clusters across the country. NHDP focuses on skill development, capacity building, design innovation, marketing support, and infrastructure development to enhance the competitiveness of small businesses engaged in handicraft production.

  2. Marketing Assistance and Export Promotion Scheme (MAEPS): The Marketing Assistance and Export Promotion Scheme (MAEPS) is designed to promote the marketing and export of Indian handicraft products. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided to small businesses and artisan groups to participate in domestic and international trade fairs, exhibitions, and buyer-seller meets. Additionally, support is extended for branding, packaging, and market linkage initiatives to help small-scale handicraft producers access wider markets and increase their export earnings.

  3. Hunar Haat: Hunar Haat is a unique initiative by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, aimed at providing a platform for artisans and craftsmen, including those from minority communities, to showcase their traditional skills and products. These haats (markets) are organized across different cities, where artisans display and sell a wide range of handicraft items such as pottery, handloom products, textiles, jewelry, woodwork, and more. Hunar Haat provides a direct market interface for small businesses in the handicraft sector, enabling them to connect with consumers and generate livelihood opportunities.

These programs exemplify the government's dedication to assisting small businesses in the handicraft sector through diverse forms of aid, encompassing skill enhancement, marketing assistance, and market access.
